How to Get Rid of Acne with Home Remedies?
Acne can affect people of all age groups but is more common in young adults because of the rapid hormonal change in their body. Excessive oil production, bacteria, clogged pores and dead skin cells are the causes of acne. Stress, disturbance in sleep wake cycle, unhygienic diet and negligence in taking care of skin can enhance acne problem. Acne can appear on skin, back, scalp and chest areas. No exact cure is present for this except natural home remedies.
Get Rid of Acne with Home Remedies
Different home remedies for acne:
1) Baking soda:
It acts as an exfoliate for skin. It removes dead cells and opens the pores of skin. As a good antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent it can be helpful in eradicating acne. It also maintains the pH of the skin.
Mix 2 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon powder, 5 tablespoon of honey and add juice of half lemon. Apply on face and wash after 5 minutes.
2) Oatmeal:
Oatmeal reduces acne by absorbing excessive skin oil and cleaning pores of skins. It prevents pores from blocking.
In a cup of cooked oatmeal add teaspoon of honey and juice of half lemon. Rub the mixture on skin and let it stay on skin for 30 minutes. Then rinse it with lukewarm water. Do this remedy twice or thrice a week.
3) Fuller’s Earths
It unclogs the pores and absorbs excessive oil from the skin. It proves helpful for acne infected and greasy skin. Fuller’s earth is also beneficial for improving the color of skin.
Mix equal quantity of Fuller’s earth, rose water and sandalwood powder and make a paste. To get better consistency add more rose water. Apply on face and let it dry. Rinse with water when it dries up. Apply it once a week.
4) Lemon juice:
The acidic nature of lemon juice prevents acne. It hardens the sebum, removes extra dirt and helps open the clogged pores.
On the infected part of your skin rub a slice of lemon and leave for few hours before rinsing with water. Lemon juice can also be mixed with rose water in equal amounts and used to wash the area infected with acne.
5) Toothpaste:
This is one of the easiest remedy for treating acne. Tooth paste is useful in removing acne as it dries it out and reduce the swelling.
Before going to bed apply a small amount of toothpaste on the infected area of the skin and leave it overnight. In the morning rinse the face with clean water.
