WhatsApp said some users were facing issues while accessing its messaging service.

The issue had began shortly after 4.30PM UK time (10PM IST) on New Year’s eve.

WhatsApp, however, did not provide any details on what led to the outage,

Facebook says WhatsApp has about 900 million global users.

Facebook also had a glitch on its flagship service Thursday that invited some users to celebrate “46 years of friendship on Facebook” with one or more of their online friends.
